Title: For Your Eyes Only

For Your Eyes Only is a fantastic collection of five short stories featuring James Bond, the British secret service agent who’s as well-known for his womanising as for his assassination and espionage. The Bond of Fleming’s novels is very different to the Bond of the movies – in fact, in some of these stories, he’s a passive protagonist, a man who’s in the wrong place at the wrong time or who listens to a story as told by someone else.
There are some fantastic stories to read about here, and the titular tale was a personal favourite for me, but From a View to a Kill is also awesome. In fact, the two of those join Quantum of Solace to form a triumvirate of short stories which have since been turned in to movies, although the films don’t stack up against the books. Who cares, though? Take For Your Eyes Only for what it is – a collection of fantastic short stories from a writer who single-handedly created a genre.
