Disclaimer: While I aim to be unbiased, I received a copy of this for free to review.

Finally! Some modern poetry with a story behind it! Ashley went blind later on in his life, but he didn’t let that stop him from writing poetry – it doesn’t detract from his ability as a writer at all, and he’s certainly one of the more skilled poets who’s writing today.

That said, while it’s clearly contemporary, I personally prefer more experimental work, and whilst the contemporaneity helps, it rhymes too often for my liking. Some of the poems are short, too – I thought my own poetry was short, but this is something else!
