Mock the Week – Scenes We’d Like to See

If you’ve ever seen Mock the Week before (and surely you must have!) then you know what to expect here. Basically, this book is a collection of one-liners from the section of the show with the same name, from ‘Greetings Cards That Wouldn’t Sell‘ to ‘Lies from Everyday Life‘ and ‘Unfortunate Names for Race Horses‘.

It’s a reasonably good read, and a quick book to whizz through, but it wasn’t as funny as I was hoping for. I picked it up in a charity shop at a low price, which was worth it, but I wouldn’t pay full retail price for it. The jokes were often crass or overly simple, occasionally lapsing into cliche.

I’m not sure what else to say! The show is much better than the book is – that’s all there is.
