The Barking Ghost is one of R. L. Stine’s Goosebumps books, and so you pretty much know what you’re in for. I actually thought that this was one of the better ones, and I kind of feel bad for giving it a 3/5 – it just didn’t feel right to give it a four, either.

The plot follows a kid who moves into a new house and discovers that there’s something strange going on nearby. He can hear barking and starts to see ghostly dogs, and there’s a twist at the end as usual. Other than that, it’s just a bog standard Goosebumps book.
