Shaun Tan – The Arrival

The Arrival is a fascinating book, because it doesn’t contain any words – the entire book is just a series of illustrations which show a family arriving in a strange city. It’s dark, it’s cyberpunk, and it’s really interesting to read because you can interpret the story, if there is one, however you want to. It’s all told through Tan’s incredible visuals, which are simultaneously frightening and somehow strangely comforting.

Everyone should own this book, because it’s beautiful, and you don’t find many books like it. It just has to be a part of your collection if you’re serious about books and reading, like I am. So get it!
