I’ve already reviewed The Third Man on the site, and here it’s presented alongside another short novella called the Fallen Idol, the story of a young boy who’s “caught up in the games that adults play” when left in the care of the butler and his wife while his parents go away on holiday.
In many ways, it’s typical Greene in these stories, but I can’t help feeling that they’re better enjoyed by connoisseurs than by the general public. That said, both novellas are decent enough stories, and if you’re feeling adventurous then it can’t hurt to give them a read.
