Pewdiepie – This Book Loves You

Okay, well for a start – this book won’t make as much sense to you if you don’t know who the author is. Pewdiepie, in case you didn’t know, is the most subscribed to YouTuber, and this book is effectively a collection of his dubious wisdom, like: “If you ever take advice from a duck, remember: Don’t. Ducks can’t talk. You’re probably on drugs.”

If I had to explain what this is like, I’d have to say that it’s a bit like the book form of a Facebook page that’s dedicated to sharing inspirational quotes. You know, the ones that are designed to make you feel better about your life and which usually consist of a vague quote over an image of a waterfall. Except these ones are different, because they’re funny and subversive.

It’s a fun little book and it brightened up a dull commute, although people gave me the odd funny look. But screw ’em. You’ll like it if you like Pewdiepie’s videos, but if you can’t see what all of the fuss is about then it’ll probably leave you scratching your head. Personally, I don’t like the whole ‘YouTubers writing books’ thing, especially when they turn out (unsurprisingly) to be ghostwritten. But this book is different – it’s barely even a book, and perfect to duck into.
