The Raft is interesting enough, a poetic retelling of The Raft of the Medusa in which over one hundred people died off the coast of Senegal in 1816. The poetry is exciting and innovative, and it’s refreshing to see something like this on the market.
That said, it’s very heavy going, and in some places it feels like it’s a poetic expression for the sake of the expression, rather than because the author actually has something to say. I’ll let you decide.
